. Yes I think they are falling in love because they have realized that they are meant to be with each other and the other person knows him/her more than they know themselves.

1.? Norton is curious that Mr. Pignati has some valuable things at his apartment that he can use to sell and gain money, but John won’t let him do that because he already is caring about Mr. Pignati and don’t want him to be hurt.
    2. Mrs. Conlan thinks that John doesn’t care about his future and she really don’t cares if he smokes. I think John just feels so sad and lonely because he thinks he has no parents that tell him what’s wrong.
    3. John and Lorraine confess Mr. Pignati they know about Conchetta’s death, Mr. Pignati confess he misses her so much and couldn’t live without her, now we can see a deeper part in their relationship, more personal.
    4. While following John to the stairs, Mr. Pignati has a heart attack and John and Lorraine don’t know what to do, and immediately Lorraine starts blaming John as he then blames her for Pignati’s death. I was expecting those reactions because they felt guilty and didn’t knew what to do.
    5. John and Lorraine pretended to be Mr. Pignati’s children to be allowed to visit him to the hospital, I think they really mean it, and in some way they felt like his children, taking care of him and worrying for him.

    6. They add mystery and suspense, also add more intensity and makes you read more and more if they weren’t there any more I think the we will loose part of the knowledge we feel about the story.
    7. They apologize because they felt guilty and they really like Mr. Pignati and care about him just the way Pignati cares about them and that makes him feel loved and makes him feel like he has a caring family he wishes for.

    Making Predictions
John and Lorraine are showing that they care about each other and really want to spend more time together. Someday they will no longer see each other like a friend but like something else, but John wouldn’t be able to express his feelings for Lorraine, making her feel really sad. Their relationship with Mr. Pignati will get better, Lorraine and John will start feeling Pignati as a father and then arrives death, filling Loraine and John’s heart full of misery and loneliness because Pignati had already gain a part of their heart and they will always keep him there and in their thoughts, keeping his smile forever.

    1. Nor ton wants to know if Mr. Pignati has any possessions worth stealing. John “feels like socking right in the face.” John likes Mr. Pignati and wants to protect him.
    2. John’s mother is indifferent. Some may feel that John is right to blame his parents: his father encouraged him to drink and his mother does not try y to stop him from drinking or smoking. Others may feel that he is old enough to take responsibility for his bad habits.
    3. John and Lorraine confess that they are high school students; Mr. Pignati confesses that his wife is dead. The three seek to develop a relationship built on trust.
    4. Mr. Pignati has a hear t attack. Lorraine is so overcome with emotion that she is faint. John quickly realizes what has happened and calls an ambulance. Students should see that both John’s and Lorraine’s responses are consistent with their characters.
    5. John and Lorraine pretend to be Mr. Pignati’s children when the police question them and when they visit Mr. Pignati at the hospital. Most students will agree that John and Lorraine would like to be Mr. Pignati’s children because he has all the qualities that the characters’ parents lack.

    6. Students may say that the realia make the story y more realistic, more vivid, easier to understand, or more fun to read and would miss the realia if they were omitted.
    7. They apologize because they feel guilty about deceiving him. Students will probably say that apologizing eases their guilty consciences. Answers should show an awareness of the characters’ situation and feelings.

  3. Personal Response
Yeah I think they are because they have finally realized that there’s no one who knows each other really well, they also realized that over time they have been there through ups and downs and they have each other’s back. The moment they kissed they started acting rare, they knew they liked each other.
    Analyzing Literature
    Recall and Interpret
    1. Norton thinks Mr. Pignati got some really valuable stuff in his house so he thinks about stealing them and then selling it to gain an amount of money. John reacts by defending Mr. Pignati and by telling him they don’t have marshmallows, he uses this against Norton for a past incident.
2.She thinks John is a not responsible at all for smoking and drinking and I don’t think it’s John’s fault after all due that his father was not a good role model because he allowed John to drink beer when he was a little kid so John grew up with this kind of concept that drinking was normal habit even though it was not good for your body. He is not right to blame his parents because if he knows its bad he’s not mature enough to stop and control himself.
    3. John and Lorraine confess to Mr. Pignati that they are not part of any charity fund that they are just high school kids having fun but that they do care about him. Mr. Pignati confess to them that his wife is not really away visiting her sister, she is dead. By the kind of honesty they held between each other I can tell that they care a lot, Truth might hurt but lies as worst.
    4. While they are roller-skating going up the stairs Mr. Pignati starts to have a heart attack, John’s reaction was panic because he had no idea what to do but then he blames Lorraine and Lorraine blames him. Yeah I was expecting that reaction because they were always feeling guilty about what they have done since the beginning.
    5. They pretend to be his children when they were visiting him in the hospital because only family members were allowed to visit him. They would like to be his children because he is so caring and sweet towards them.
    Evaluate and Connect
    6. They add a kind of interest feeling towards the story it makes you want to keep reading to see what’s really going on, it makes you feel like you’re actually living the moment. If they were not there the story would loose that kind of charm it has to make you want to keep on reading nonstop.
    7. They apologized because they felt guilty for what they did and because of the incident.

    Making Predictions
What do you think will happen to John and Lorraine? to Mr. Pignati? In a paragraph or two, predict how the novel will end. Be sure to base your predictions on clues in the novel. I think John and Lorraine will realize that they need each other to be happy and to go through hard times. That friends and family matters a lot, more than money, material things and even beer. Mr. Pignati will die and John and Lorraine will always remember him but also kind of feel guilty about it. From the start you can say that Mr. Pignati is really going to die.

What did you think of the conclusion of The Pigman? Why?
I think it’s a good conclusion after all because it shows you that sometimes you need to be more careful with the people you became friends with, you always need to be honest with people because lie hurts.

    3. Norton breaking Mr. Pignati’s pigs and the incident of that night when they had the party.
    4. He’s upset because Mr. Pignati was really happy when he showed them his collection of porcelain pigs and it means a lot to him because his wife used call him something related to pigs because of his PIGnati.

    A Letter to Mr. Pignati
Mr. Pignati I’m really sorry for what has happened to you in the last few days, I wanted you to know that I care about you and that the way you treated us by buying us skates and food shows us that we should be thankful for your presence and we’re sorry for disappointing you. You teach us that friendships are important and family also, that you need them to go through up and downs life might bring you. We loved to see you smile whenever you saw Bobo or showed us your collection of porcelain pigs, it shows me how strong you are even though you were alone for a long time. I really hope you can forgive me and John.

Maybe, they too much time together.
    Analyzing Literature
    1. Why is Norton so curious about Mr. Pignati? How does John react to Norton’s questions? Why?
Norton wants to steal from Mr. Pignati, John tries to protect Mr. Pignati and thinks to himself he will protect Mr. Pignati. Because he cares for him.
    2. How does Mrs. Conlan feel about John’s drinking and smoking? Do you think John is right to blame his parents for his bad habits? Is John at all to blame? Explain.
Mrs. Conlan does nothing about it and is rather more worried about him making a hole in the rug. John can blame his parents for his drinking because they encouraged him.
    3. What do John and Lorraine confess to Mr. Pignati? What does he confess to them? What does their willingness to confess to each other suggest about their relationship?
John and Lorraine confess they are high school students, the Pigman confessed Conchetta is dead. This shows their connection is growing stronger.
    4. What happens to Mr. Pignati while he is roller-skating? How does Lorraine react to the incident? How does John react? Are their reactions what you expected? Explain.
Mr. Pignati has a heart attack, Lorraine almost faints. John calls the police, I expected them to act this way because Lorraine cares too much about Mr. Pignati and John always acts cool.
    5. When and why do John and Lorraine pretend to be Mr. Pignati’s children? Do you think that they would actually like to be his children? Why or why not?
John and Lorraine pretend to be the Pigman's children when the police questioned them and when they went to the hospital, so that they though they were family. Yes, they would like to be his children because they like him a lot.

    6. In your opinion, what do the news clippings, pictures, and handwritten notes add to the novel? Would you miss them if they were not there? Explain.
They help you understand what the author was trying to say, they make things clearer. I would miss them if they were not there because they keep you entertained.
    Literature and Writing
What do you think will happen to John and Lorraine? to Mr. Pignati? In a paragraph or two, predict how the novel will end. Be sure to base your predictions on clues in the novel.
Lorraine and John will publish their memorial or leave it by the Pigman's grave. Mr. Pignati probably died of another heart attack they provoked which is why they are so sorry about what happened.

Yes, because they see each other with differently, caring for each other more and admiring the other.
    Analyzing Literature

    1. He is curious because he had seen the interest that has John and Lorraine; he thinks they are behind this old man because of his material things. John reacts protectively because he considers the Pigman family and doesn’t want Norton hurting him.
    2. Mrs. Conlan doesn’t really cares, she only cares for leave the things John use for this bad habits clean. Their parents may have a little of fault because they aren’t there for John, but I think is also John’s fault because he knows that it isn’t right and he continues with these habits.
    3. They confess they aren’t charity works, but high school students. He confesses where do Conchetta really was, he tells she is dead. Now, the relationship among them is not only based on fun but also honesty and trust.
    4. Mr. Pignati suffers from a heart attack while he is trying to catch John. Lorraine panics and blames John for the incident, but she is very interested in the health of Mr. Pignati. John reacts caring and feels regret for “causing it”. I expected Lorraine’s reaction, but not John’s reaction. He was really interested in the Pigman’s health and even pretended being his son.
    5. The night Mr. Pignati suffers from a heart attack because that way they could enter to see him in the hospital and see how he was. I think they wouldn’t have problem to be his children because they admire, care and respect the Pigman. They already feel he was family.
    Evaluate and Connect
    6. They add credibility. I will miss them because they talk about normal life things and make the reader think the characters are real and their lives too.
    7. They apologize for the disaster the party created in his house. This make them feel regret for doing the party and letting it go too far. Also, they feel guilt and that the Pigman will be different with them because they betray him in a sort of way.
    Literature and Writing
    Making Predictions
I think John and Lorraine will fall in love. I think Mr. Pignati will become distant and return to his lonely days. But I also think he is going to suffer health problems. I think this because he is old and his days in Earth are running, this elder man doesn’t have any health problem but he still suffered from a heart attack from some physical work.

    3. They confess to Pignati that they are not charity workers, he confesses were do Conchetta was, that she really is dead. So now the relationship is more confidence and more honest and trustable because of telling their secrets.
    4. While Mr. Pignati wants to catch John, he starts to have a heart attack, so John blames Lorraine, but Lorraine blames John. John acts like he cares. Obviously yes, the way they act among each other, their relationship. They care about each other and they fill an attraction by the way they express themselves about each other.

    1. Because he thinks John and Lorraine only goes to his house for money so he wanted to have some of his money too. He doesn’t like Norton thoughts of stealing Mr. Pignatis house and he thinking Lorraine and him are only hanging out with him for money so this makes John really mad.
    2. She doesn’t care he does that kind of stuff (the drinking and the smoking) since her husband (John’s father) had the same habits. He can be right because his parents should be good parents and intervene making him stop those bad habits but it is also his fault to don’t be mature enough and have self control to stop drinking and smoking by himself.
    3. They tell the truth of their identities making him know they really aren’t charity workers and the foundation they were “working for” wasn’t real. Mr. Pignati tells John and Lorraine that his wife is really dead and not on a vacation. This makes us know they have become really good friends and can trust one another.
    4. Mr. Pignati suffer a heart attack while roller- skating. This makes John and Lorraine be surprise and worried of what would happen to him. These reactions were expected because John, Lorraine and Mr. Pignati have form a strength relationship and care about the other, what would happen to them.
    5. John and Lorraine pretend to be Mr. Pignati’s sons when he had the heart attack and the coops were inspecting the house also when they went to visit him at the hospital. The first time they lied about this was because maybe in this way they wouldn’t get in trouble and the second time they pretended because it was the only way they could visit Mr. Pignati since only family was allow. Yes, they love Mr. Pignat and they hope their real parents would act the same way Mr. Pignati act with them. John and Lorraine enjoy every minute they spend with Mr. Pignati.
    Evaluate and Connect
    6. It makes us see and understand better the story, it also make the reading more fun. It is more organize and let us distinguish things. I will miss them because the let me be more into the story and it would be funnier.
    7. because they feel really bad for letting the disaster that was made at the party happen and they feel very sorry for letting his precious pigs being destroy, they feel they have been very irresponsible making them feel sorry and regret for what they have cause. They think it would solve it all out and if they receive the pigman’s forgiveness everything was going to be okay and anything will change between them.
    Literature and Writing
    Making Predictions
They would become closer that what they have being thanks to Mr. Pignati who have really being a big part of their life, they’ll support each other to avoid the sadness from Mr. Pignati’s death and obviously they would fall in LOVE. He would die maybe from the sadness and loneliness.
