  1. The Pigman Study Guide (IV)
What did you think of the conclusion of The Pigman? Why?
I was angry at John for doing that party and afterwards inviting Mr. Pignati to zoo. If he had not done that Mr. Pignati could have lasted longer.
    1. In chapter 12, John starts to care about how his hair and clothes look. Whom does he want to impress? Why?
He wanted to impress Lorraine because he liked her.
    2. When Lorraine recalls her candlelight dinner with John, she says, “it was as if I was being told about . . . something beautiful waiting just for me.” What do you think that “something beautiful” is?
    Love for John.
    3. Briefly describe Lorraine’s nightmare about Mr. Pignati’s “pig room.” What incident does the dream foreshadow?
She is being pulled towards darkness, it foreshadows the death of the Pigman.
    4. Why is John so upset when Norton breaks Mr. Pignati’s porcelain pigs? What do the pigs represent, or symbolize, to Mr. Pignati?
John is angry because he knew Norton should have never come to the party, and now he broke the pigs which were really important to Mr. Pignati because he and Conchetta had collected them.
    5. Why are John and Lorraine arrested? How do their parents react?
They are arrested for doing a very noisy party. John's parents want to take him to a doctor, Lorraine's mother cries a lot.
    6. Why does John think about his father when Mr. Pignati dies?
Because at that time Mr. Pignati's face looked like Bore's face.

    A Letter to Mr. Pignati
Imagine that you are either John or Lorraine. Then write a letter of apology to Mr. Pignati in which you explain why you are sorry and how much he meant to you. Be sure to use specific details from the novel to write your letter.
Mr. Pignati, you were so important to me despite the fact I did not show it. Since the day you died I feel guilty for taking you to the zoo, I am really sorry, but how was I supposed to know Bobo was dead? I also wanted to tell you were like a father to me, and I really miss drinking wine at your home.
    Sincerely, John.

    A Letter to Mr. Pignati
Dear Pignari, or should I called you Mr. Pignati, my friend.
I’m just writing this letter to tell you how much sorry I am for all what I’ve done too you. I’m just making sure to let you know, I didn’t mean to hurt. Through all this time we passed together, I realized that you have become more than a friend, you have become I father, the one I never had. You have taught to me many things, in some way you trained me to be a better person, you showed me how to value things that in a future I may not have. I really want you to forgive me, because I don’t want to lose another person in my life, a person with whom I can be sincere and be myself.

    A Letter to Mr. Pignati
    Dear Mr. Pignati,
I know you must be somewhere in heaven with your wife and I hope you are happy with her. I know you can’t read this letter anymore because you are now dead, but I also think I should express how your appearance to my life affected me. First of all, I want to apologize. I shouldn’t have let John organized the cocktail. I should not have taken without permission Conchetta’s possessions, neither let them be damaged. I should have been more careful and have taken more care of you considering your age. I should have known how your age affected you physical ability, since my mother is a nurse. When I first saw you have the heart attack I panicked because I didn’t want anything to happen to you. At first you were only a game, but from the beginning I didn’t want anything bad happening to you. When I first saw you I saw the sincere caring in your eyes, which my mother haven’t use with me since my father. As time passed, and you took John and I as family we also took you as family. You were like the caring relative that John and I never had, you cared for us and even though we were still were stranger you wanted to give us thinks without us asking, like those stockings you wanted to give me. Im very grateful you share at least few months with me and I must confess you changed John into a better person and me into a more confident person. I want to thank you all the time you spend with us. Be forever happy with your wife now.
    With love,
    Lorraine.

He was a very lonely and sad man that uses to cover all his sadness with fake smiles. All this sadness was hided really deep inside of him and Bobo’s death was a deception that with all of his sadness together causes his weak hearth to break guiding him to his death. His fakeness guided him to this, trying to be a kid again to forget, trying to feel “happy” to forget and don’t let the pain inside of him show, he couldn’t stand no more.

I hope you know you meant too much to me and I never wanted to hurt you in any way. I’m truly sorry for making up that cocktail that had ruin your house and the pig’s room but I didn’t meant it to happen. John was the one who make me do the party, he literally force me to make it and I shouldn’t have fall, it really wasn’t mainly his force but I hope this have make you smile. Because I love when you smile I don’t like to see you cried and even less because of me. For the dresses I’m really sorry I didn’t know what I was thinking, I’m human everyone make mistakes. The pig room is the damage that hurt me more, I understand how much that room meant for you, it meant the same you mean for us and if something happen to you I would feel really sad too. Although I don’t think John would write you a later too I know he is really sorry too and both of us wish your forgiveness. We love you.
